Some photos from 2005's Rendezvous, lead by Randi Kander. The focus was on textures made on paper with paste using found items and tools. Then using the paper for making cards, books and broadsides. Some samples of her teacher, Rosie are visible, too.

 

 

 

Want to see your own written forms in "type". You can make your writing into fonts...


Font Lab and Fontographer are applications that can help you make your lettering into fonts for the computer. This can aid in layouts or even doing finished pieces with the "hand done" look in less time. But don't think it doesn't take time. It takes A LOT of time to get it right, but worth it. The International Calligraphy Conference has had classes on this topic for years. If you wish to learn more ask Kathryn or follow the links here. Enjoy....

Send information on: exhibits you know about; events you've heard or read about -- even if not local; interesting tips or tricks; Magazine articles that could be of interest. If submitting photos, please have them in the jpg, gif or png format and send a description of what you used to make the piece: eg. guache on 90# hot press or w/n watercolors on cold press, etc. Maybe tell about the pitfalls or success that were encountered in doing the piece. Where did the inspiration come from?
